Larger Than I Am

I would have you feeling
that you are worth more
than I can give.

My love is larger than
the man I am.

Moment to moment,
each day spins.

I hold myself close,
then reach out into that dark.
I open my eyes and
reach in to that light.

Empty is that space
and yes these
are my tears.

I would that you
feel more worth
than this life I live.

My love is larger
than my pain
or these fears.

I do have hope,
and so do you.

That is why
I reach out
into empty space.

Why I dream.

I'd prefer to have your eyes
glowing
in firelight
with your voice
and breath in the night.

And in your dreams
my face.
